Seeds and white membrane add texture without a benefit, so there is no reason to leave them in.
Sweet pepper is not hot pepper
Do not apply this answer to jalapeno, chili, cayenne, salsa, or spicy pepper dishes.
Remove them
- Wash the pepper and remove the stem, seeds, and white membrane.
- Offer only one tiny plain seed-free strip if you offer pepper at all.
- Throw away loose seeds instead of sprinkling them into food.
Skip these seeds
- Hot pepper seeds, jalapeno seeds, chili seeds, seasoned pepper dishes, salsa, stir-fry, onion, garlic, salt, and oil.
- Large strips or seed clusters that are easy to swallow poorly.
- Pepper for cats with vomiting, diarrhea, poor appetite, or restricted diets unless your veterinarian approves it.
Watch
- Gagging, vomiting, diarrhea, gas, low appetite, or mouth irritation after chewing pepper.
Portion
Do not serve bell pepper seeds. Use one tiny seed-free strip if pepper fits your cat.
